NEW! Online Radiation Safety Training

Rad safetyThe American Institute of Nondestructive Testing is proud to offer the first online 40 hour industrial radiation safety training program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

"We've worked very hard to insure our online radiation safety program delivers what employers are looking for in a training program" Said Don Booth, CEO of AINDT. "Our program was reviewed over several months and found to be very effective in knowledge retention for students.

Companies now have a viable, efficient, and cost effective alternative to the standard options previously available to them. Our program includes video lectures, essay requirements, flashcard reviews and many more features that help students retain the knowledge they need to be successful in the field of radiography, and ultimately pass their IRRSP or State card exams."

Testing The Waters

"Mining operations rely on the continued safe operation of vehicles and machinery to maintain profitability.

Any equipment failure can be expensive in terms of lost production and cost of repairs. An estimate for the cost of lost production for a single dragline is $8000 per hour, making any breakdown costly when it might take weeks for a replacement part to be available.

One way to minimise losses is to continually monitor plant and machinery using non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to ascertain component health, and monitor mechanisms for damage."

A Wealth of Knowledge About NDT at AINDT

“I sought out and researched all the different NDT schools in the states. I read blogs about peoples experiences with other schools. I outweighed the time they take, the money they cost, the possibility of relocating for nearly a year of school… After multiple phone conversations with Shon [super informative] I decided this school would be the best in allowing me to get the education without any major life changes and continue to support my family.

I was able to continue working and doing my schoolwork at night, in the morning, on the weekends and whenever it was convenient. I was able to attend the 24 day hands on portion when it was most convenient for me also. Throughout the course both online and hands on there was tons of support. There is a wealth of knowledge about NDT at this school.

The instructors worked hard to make sure we were employed before leaving. Every day they would check with us about our situation and help us find the right jobs.

I couldn’t be more pleased about how my time and money was spent going with this program! Thanks again you guys, I really appreciate it!”

Nondestructive Testing Market by Technology & Application - Global Trends & Forecasts to 2014 - 2020

Source: NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/

NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components, or assemblies for discontinuities or differences in characteristics without altering the original attributes. It has the property to determine the discontinuities and differences in material characteristics. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is broadly divided into NDT equipment and NDT services market. Key NDT inspection methods covered in the report are ultrasonic testing, magnetic and electromagnetic testing, Infrared (IR) thermography testing, shearography testing, radiographic testing, liquid penetrant testing, eddy current testing, and visual testing.

Out of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and eddy current testing are expected to capture most of the market size owing to the various applications across end user segments. Ultrasonic testing has been the prime choice among the end users for fault determination as it is non-hazardous to operators or nearby personnel and does not affect the material being tested and provides instantaneous results and with the continuous innovation in the ultrasonic NDT testing. Radiographic testing is likely to intercept conventional technologies in the near future.

The demand for the NDT equipment used in inspections and quality has observed a significant growth and is expected to grow due to the increasing importance for quality control among industry players across various industry verticals. North America holds the largest market size in the NDT equipment due to increasing use of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in maintaining and inspecting the aging infrastructure and strict safety regulations implemented by the U.S. government which forces manufacturers to regularly engage in inspection activities. The key drivers for non-contact NDT market are strong government safety regulations, user friendly software, automation, and robotics. The Asia-Pacific region is expected to observe significant growth due to rapid growth in infrastructure and power generation in the countries such as India, China, and Japan. This creates an ample of opportunities for the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) companies in these countries.

Since the NDT equipment used are very complex in their kinematics and very expensive, and they not only differ widely but there is also lack of NDT equipment knowledge among the end users, all these are acting as a driver for the growth of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services market such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) renting services, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) consultation services are growing rapidly with high growth potential in the future. There is a lot of opportunity for the existing players and new entrants to innovate and differentiate the products range. Key players in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) include GE Measurement & Control (U.S.), Olympus Corporation (Japan), Nikon Metrology (Belgium), Mistras Group, Inc. (U.S.), and Zetec (U.S.).

"Steady Investment In Middle East and North African Energy Industry Powers Demand for NDT Inspection Services Focus will move from competing on price to competing on technology and quality of service, finds Frost & Sullivan Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Continued investment in new oil and gas as well as power generation projects is accelerating the need for nondestructive testing (NDT) inspection services in the Middle East and North Africa. Despite pressure on global oil prices and fears of a slowdown, the Middle Eastern oil and gas industry is expected to remain robust, offering immense growth opportunities for the NDT inspection services market.

Educating customers on the importance of quality over price will be vital to succeed in this competitive market. Participants must also explore the possibility of providing advanced NDT services to offset low profit margins."

"MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — The biggest growth driver for the non-destructive test (NDT) training services market globally is a lack of qualified technicians. Due to aging infrastructure and vastly publicized industrial disasters and catastrophes, as well as growing investment in new infrastructure projects, demand for new technicians to cater to the needs of the NDT industry has increased incrementally. However, this demand is not being met as there is an evident shortage of technicians.

Although there is a huge demand for trained technicians, growth of NDT training service providers is further being hindered by a lack of quality instructors to impart training courses. Growth and revenue for every NDT training service provider depends on the number of instructors available, since there is a maximum threshold on not only the number of courses an instructor can teach, but also the number of students that can be accommodated in a course without compromising on the quality of the training.

“An instructor should possess two important qualities: in-depth knowledge of NDT fundamentals and good communication skills to express the information to candidates,” said Frost & Sullivan’s Senior Research Analyst Nikhil Jain. “Finding instructors with both qualities is an extremely difficult task for most NDT training service providers.”
